CONSTANCE TURNER

Always inspired to be an artist, Connie painted throughout childhood and was enrolled in classes at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. During college she had several watercolor shows, and participated in the Bronson Park Art Fair. She went on to earn a BFA in Graphic Design, and a BA in Watercolor from Western Michigan University.

Never a believer in the starving artist mentality, she moved to Chicago and started Turner Design. There, she worked as Creative Director until moving back to Michigan in 2012.

She became interested in motorcycles for the close-up portraits of the bikes. Those along with the ongoing study of waterlilies and florals is a current focus. Watercolors are not yet added to the site.

Koi Pond Triptych

Oil on canvas. Series of three panels,12 x 24 inches each.

Each has painted edges, making them ready to hang without additional framing.

These water lilies on canvas are inspired by Impressionism. This piece is a triptych, and meant to hang frameless to highlight the two-inch dimension of the canvas. The artistic expression features undulating patterns that highlight the pigment, brush work and the canvas itself – as an integral part of the piece.
